Abolishing OSHA oversight nationwide is not a new concept. Rep. Andy Biggs brought this issue back in 2021 and has renewed his efforts again just last week. His thoughts are to let each state decide what is needed or necessary for workers. One example he gave in the AZ Central newspaper, was the differences in weather conditions. As we know, AZ is a pretty hot place to live and work. AZ knows what would be best, and to follow OSHA’s mandates are outside of the scope of what AZ needs. Going back to 2021, he was not happy with how OSHA enforced contractors, doing business on behalf of the Government, had to be vaccinated to continue or lose their contract.

As we all know, the use of technology can help with many of the situations. For instance, as we are all about forklifts, it makes sense that forklifts need to be checked. We agree. These machines are being driven indoors and should be in good working condition to operate. However, where it does fall short is on the safety of workers around the forklift. That’s where SIERA AI is ahead of the game. OSHA has good basic standards for forklifts, but we go much farther as we understand that magnitude of forklift accidents, injuries, damages to the facility, the use of drugs, and the weaponization of a forklift. If it stays with the Federal government or goes to the States, we’ll be protecting the company from harm either way. We’ll keep watch on abolishing OSHA oversight nationwide. Contact us today!
