Fact-Based Decision Making for the Entire Facility with a Forklift
There are countless articles in our industrial publications that give ideas on how to make better decision making with technology. Although it sounds very exciting, you know that this can include deep data collection and hours of work to analyze the data for it to make sense. Then you wonder, is it giving me what I want to ‘hear’ or is it based on the actual facts? Many manufacturers stay away from the technology as it is costly and complicated, and instead use their experience to make the decisions. However, what if you get only the information you need? What if you can make fact-based decision making for the entire facility with a forklift? Or more accurately, an AI forklift safety system. Let’s explore what it can do.
How Data is Collected for Decision Making
The SIERA AI forklift safety system is constantly collecting data as it moves about the facility. It’s not collecting things like, okay I made a right turn, or there’s a cobweb, it’s measuring and collecting data on low, medium and high impacts (thresholds that you set), how many failed and passed forklift inspections, how many and other data on pedestrian and objects that come within the danger zone, and how many near misses for each of these. According to our customers, these are the fact-based decision making for the entire facility with a forklift safety system they want to collect and analyze.
Quick Facts
Sometimes you don’t need the reports, just ‘give me the facts’! We get it. We have them scrolling at the top of the Dashboard so you can quickly see them. Now customize the date for when you want to start to stop. Now that you have that, let’s say you want to go a bit deeper. Okay, ‘click’ to go deeper by worksite, then by a particular forklift to find out how many passes and fails. Now if you want to know what question(s) are ‘failed’, ‘click’ on that. Now you know where the problem resides for a single forklift.
If you want a quick understanding of how many near misses there were for the month of February in a particular worksite, 2 seconds to get that data. OSHA comes by and wants a report, 2 clicks and done. These are the facts.
Reports that are Ready to Go
The Dashboard has plenty of reports, but not overwhelming. It is reports that our customers say they want and need. These include various inspection reports and incident reports. Here you quickly know who was driving during an incident with a picture of the ‘who’, know the impact G force, where and when it occurred. You can also use the GPS and heat map together to actually see where the incidents are happening. The greater the amount, the redder it gets. Now you can go to the high risk area and begin to make changes to reduce it. Because our data is in real-time, you will know if your changes made the difference. All of this is fact-based decision making for the entire facility with a forklift collecting the data so you can make the safe changes needed for the workers and drivers. Get a demo of our Dashboard. It’s worth it.
