Forklift Safety System + Telemetry = Getting to Your KPI Results
A telemetry Dashboard shows you the answers at a glance. It is the results of accumulated data shown to you in a way that allows you to understand what is not usually ‘seen’. These new insights allow you to make actionable decisions based on the KPI results. For mobile equipment in your facility, these are the most difficult to control. A telemetry Dashboard can help uncover patterns with mobile equipment and highlight targeted KPI’s on a single screen.
What Managers Want with a Telemetry Dashboard
As SIERA.AI talks with safety, operation and plant managers each day, we understand many of their safety concerns. They want a single solution that delivers the front end of monitoring for pedestrians and objects while capturing and reporting the results on the back end, or the telemetry Dashboard. This allows managers to analyze and come to conclusions about safety in their particular environment.
Let’s go into further detail.
Front End Monitoring with Sensors
The front-end system is what resides on the forklift: the sensor and the touchscreen. The touchscreen is what is used first. The forklift driver logs in and perform the digital checklist inspection. Once this is complete and the forklift passes the inspection, the forklift and driver are ready to go.
What’s collected is the forklift operator’s information, the answers to the questions and the result if the forklift passed or did not pass inspection.
The Sensors
Next to work are the sensor(s). The sensors are the ‘eyes’ of the operation. It’s constantly monitoring the environment its in. That’s the entire job of the sensors. It sends what it ‘sees’ to the machine learning technology. Here, this is where the visual is interpreted. Is everything safe…is there a pedestrian or an object in the path. If the answer is yes, that data is captured and reported real-time in the telemetry Dashboard.
Near Miss Detection
Near miss detection is one of the most important data you can capture on the telemetry Dashboard. Near misses can be the window into where a fatality or severe damage can occur. Think of near miss detection as a trailer to a movie. It shows you the highlights before the big event. But in this case, you get to change the plot of the story.
The data is captured and shown in real-time on the telemetry Dashboard ready for further analysis.
Impact Detection
Impact detection is categorized as high, medium and low impacts. Using the movie metaphor, you skipped the trailer and went right into the movie. You either saw the beginning or made it half way through the movie or saw the full length version. Each impact tells a story. How much you’ve chosen to view of the movie is up to you. Impact detection lets you gain control of the narrative so you can have a happy ending. All of the results are again on the telemetry Dashboard.
Telemetry Dashboard Results
Everything we spoke about here today is on the telemetry Dashboard. The SIERA.AI S3 Pedestrian Detection System will collect all of this data and provide valuable insights into each of the assets. You’ll be able to control more of your mobile assets than ever before.
