Key Strategies for Adopting AI Forklift Technologies
The Connected Systems Institute works to help manufacturers with new innovative ideas to help with early stage testing and evaluating the design of the products. As a result of working with numerous manufacturers, they came up with a few strategies from their latest event that is worth mentioning. Let’s take a look at how some of these key strategies for adopting AI forklift technologies can be applied.
Key Strategies for Adopting AI Forklift Technologies
The event celebrated about 7 strategies, however, we’ll only cover a few. Within these few we’ll discuss how these strategies were either applied at SIERA AI or how you, as the manufacturer, warehouse, logistics or distribution center can apply these strategies to your company as you think about protecting your facility with new AI safety measures such as our machine learning and AI forklift safety system.
Strategy #1: Focus on the Problem
This was an interesting resolution, as most of it didn’t even contain technology as a solution. But what it did discuss was finding value in the current workflows. This means that you don’t need to throw tons of money, technology or restructuring in order to find the solution.
An AI forklift safety system is the tool that gives you the ability to focus on the problem. This can be workers getting injured, almost an accident or damages that can be caused to the facility itself or the products is makes or stores. If you focus on the problem, use the Dashboard to uncover ‘where’ it is occurring, go to that area and begin making change. Then watch the Dashboard again to know if you hit the right target and if there’s anything else you can do to make that area more safe. To learn more about Hot Spot Reporting, let us know.
Strategy #2: Data Makes Improvements
In this situation they discuss how making a person’s life better first, and the ROI will follow. They used AI technology to uncover how employees learned best, then made the improvements. But this will be difficult for most companies to do. Get the solution, then figure out the ROI? They want to know an ROI and the reason for purchase.
On average, our customers get their ROI within a year. It’s much shorter than that, but we’ll be conservative for this example. Here, we suggest looking at three categories to cost justify an AI forklift safety system. The first is the workers. Have you had an accident, injury, what are the costs etc. Next, is damages. What is the cost associated with a forklift that damages have incurred? Finally, what are other costs such as labor churn, hiring from a temporary agency. Now you have the ROI and why you need the forklift safety system to be put in place.
Strategy #3: Involvement in Technology
This means that the workers need to be involved in the evaluation and adoption. Don’t spring new technologies on employees, they have to use it, let them be a part of the solution.
We agree. The SIERA AI forklift safety system is meant to be a tool used for forklift drivers to help them have the extra set of eyes. By giving them the tool they need, their productivity can increase because they can focus on what’s in front of them, and the AI will focus on everything else.
It’s important to look at key strategies for adopting AI forklift technologies. You’re going to spend money, you want it to work and be accepted and used by all. Contact us today to learn more about these and other strategies that have helped our customers.
