Iowa-Illinois Safety Council – Our Participation
SIERA.AI had the privilege of speaking as well as exhibiting at the Iowa-Illinois Safety Council last week. We had exhibited at the NSC national show last year and in previous years, but this was the first time at the Iowa-Illinois Safety Council chapter. And it was a great experience.
Who is the Iowa-Illinois Safety Council?
According to the Iowa-Illinois Safety Council website, they state that the “IISC is here to help business and industry with their safety, health, and environmental programs; for both on the job and off the job. IISC is one of the few resource organizations that will help you comply with the law and guidelines and keep you up to speed on new and changing regulations.
IISC wants to furnish you with the ideas and strategies, educational tools and products, and up to date information that will make your business function more effectively, be more profitable and productive, while maintaining a safer and healthier environment.” Based on our experience last week, they do exactly what they say.
Being Back In-Person
First, it was wonderful to see so many people attend in person. The attendance was over 170 safety professionals and there were 10 to 20 more that just showed up the day of the conference, registered and participated. Everyone was ready to share experiences even before the exhibit hall opened at 7 a.m. Sitting at the hotel for breakfast, many were introducing themselves and sharing stories. That in itself is an education. Learning about their challenges, approach to solving it and others sharing their experiences was a class of its own.
Ram Kumar, CRO Presenter
SIERA.AI was awarded to speak to the crowd on the growth of AI technology in safety. The presentation entitled, “The Future of Safety is Now” Using AI and ML for Predictive Analytics on Material Handling Equipment was well received and many in the audience had plenty of great questions. Mr. Kumar’s presentation discussed AI technologies on how they can be useful in material handling safety within workspaces. To listen to his full presentation, watch it here.
Exhibiting
There were around fifty exhibitors at the Iowa-Illinois Safety Council, all with solutions to help with safety. Every attendee spent time in between sessions visiting the booths asking questions. Depending on the trade event, there was a difference in interest. For instance, at Promat in June, most of the visitors at our booth were interested in pedestrian detection. However, at the Iowa-Illinois Safety Council, most were interested in OSHA compliance as well as impact detection. Either way, SIERA.AI has the solution to solve both needs and requirements along with a migration path so when they are ready to move to pedestrian detection, we can move along with them.
