What You Can Lose by Not Transforming?
If it’s not broken, why fix it? Isn’t that what they say? In this case, by not fixing it, you may be losing money, productivity and critical information.
• Money: The lift trucks can be experiencing downtime, long maintenance time, long repair time, the forklift isn’t being checked by the driver, or thoroughly inspected. The managers are wasting time chasing after forklift drivers to fill it out, or going through each binder or booklet to review the content. Or what if you find out there’s a high percentage of pencil whipping going on. What crucial information are you losing?
• Productivity: If any of the lift trucks are out of service, that costs you in productivity. If the forklift breaks down during a shift, that costs you productivity. If the operators get into an accident, or dents the lift truck, it costs you in productivity. (and of course money in all of these situations.)
• Critical information: by not capturing the data where it can be analyzed, and actionable decisions can be made, you’ll lose productivity and money for not knowing the critical aspects of the lift trucks. Let’s talk about this further.
