Forklift drivers have typically been protected with metal bars or overhead guards. Metal bars are good for large products, but the forklift driver can get hit. The overhead guards can help if products are large enough or cannot reach the driver through the open sides of the forklift. But does the forklift operator have time to react?
Then you have the traditional forklift gadgets: blue lights, horn, headlights and seat belts. Well, that’s not helping the forklift driver with forklift visibility. Then of course protection for the forklift operator. They need to wear steel tip shoes, hard-hat and a high visibility jacket. Wait, that’s not helping the driver see better either.
